Struggling with motivation? Can't seem to get out of bed? Feeling sad, numb or maybe even empty? Finding yourself not wanting to hangout with your friends or family or if you are with people, you don't enjoy it? Struggle to do things you normally like? Notice yourself using drugs/alcohol more?
The expectations we set for ourselves can largely impact our ability to enjoy life. When our expectations don't align with our reality, it can lead to feeling disappointed and discouraged. It can even make us question the point of existing. You may get caught up in the negative thinking loop that causes feelings of self-blame, criticism, hopelessness and helplessness.
I'm here to help you learn the tools to fight through the hopelessness and start living the life you want.
It's normal to experience sadness whenever someone or something we care about is no longer in our lives. People often think of death when talking about grief, however, grief can also be experienced after the loss of a relationship or a job or moving to a new place.
There's no set timeline for grief, but I can support you and give you a safe space to process your loss.
I like to say "the only thing consistent in life is change". But change can be hard to adjust to, especially when it comes out of the blue. The process of adapting can be draining and can cause feelings of depression if we're struggling to manage the stress in healthy ways.
Depression can be caused from experiencing other mental health issues, like anxiety or trauma. Medical conditions, injuries, and hormone imbalances can also influence depression feelings.
My holistic approach for treating depression includes working to improve your emotional, physical & spiritual wellbeing. It may also involve referrals and collaboration with other providers to ensure quality care and root cause treatment.
